Bereavement
Programs
Open to the Community
Keystone continually offers support groups and workshops for anyone grieving
the loss of a loved one. All programs are open to families of Keystone
patients as well as to everyone in the community and are offered free
of charge. Pre-registration is required.
A group for Widows and Widowers of any age is held on
the second Thursday evening of each month. Upcoming dates are September
11, October 9, November 13 and December 11 from 7:00 to 8:15 p.m. The
group gives participants the opportunity to share their loss with others
who understand and to discover ways to express it and cope with it.
Coping with the Holidays
— a one day workshop designed to
address issues surrounding grief and the upcoming holidays. The workshop
will be held on Saturday, November 8 from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Lunch is provided. Pre-registration is required.
Keystone’s Annual Service of Remembrance will
be held on
Sunday, November 9 at 4:00 p.m. at the First Church of
the Brethren on 8707 W. Cheltenham Ave. in Wyndmoor. All hospice families,
friends, volunteers and staff are invited to attend. Transportation will
be available from Keystone House, if needed. Please call in advance to
notify us if you have that need. The service is interfaith, with the intent
of honoring and celebrating the lives of our hospice patients. Live music
is also a part of the service. Families are invited to bring a picture
or memento of their loved one to place on the Memento Table. There will
also be an opportunity to share a few words about your loved one during
the service. A potluck dinner will be held immediately afterward. To RSVP,
please call Alix Amar or Reverend Helen Burke at (215) 836-2440.
