What Are Creative Arts Therapies?

Charlie's Chair

As Jim spent time visiting his wife Dolores at Keystone House residential hospice, he became friends with hospice resident Charlie. Charlie, an artist like Jim’s wife, spent countless hours during art therapy sessions painting a customized chair.

Before his death, Charlie donated the chair for Keystone Hospice’s bi-annual fundraising auction. After both Delores and Charlie died, Jim bought the chair at the auction. Jim says,

"When I look at the chair I do not feel alone ...

For him, the chair represents a color-filled connection with Charlie, his wife, and his experiences at Keystone Hospice House.
