Private Duty Care

Nearly 1 in 4 households in the United States is involved in helping care for a spouse, relative or friend. In keeping with Keystone’s commitment to providing services across the continuum of need, Keystone’s Home Health services are also available to those who may not have a skilled need, yet would still greatly benefit from private health services in their own home. Individuals or their family can initiate their request without a referral or insurance authorization

Keystone offers full coordination of in-home services allowing individuals to remain safe and independent in their own home while giving family members the comfort and confidence that they are receiving exceptional care. Both temporary and long-term assistance is available, and services are specifically tailored to meet each individual’s needs. Care can be provided in the home, assisted living facility or nursing home.

Private Duty services may be indicated:

• When family members or caregivers are unavailable.
• When family members or caregivers are in need of respite.
• After a Hospitalization.
• When there is a change in medical condition.
• When assistance is needed with activities of daily living such as bathing, walking, and eating.
• Anytime individuals or families are in need of personal assistance.

Private Duty services may include:

• In-home visits by a registered nurse, licensed practical nurse, home health aide or companion for personal care, wellness visits or check-ups.
• Homemaker services such as laundry, housekeeping, shopping, errands.
• Friendly phone calls or visits.
• Medication or appointment reminder phone calls or visits.
• Social Worker for counseling, evaluation, or referral.
• Tuck-in service.
• 24 hour telephone assistance.

A nurse will visit for a complementary initial evaluation and develop a plan fully customized to meet each individual’s specific needs and financial resources. Long-term services can be billed according to an hourly or monthly fee. Short term or intermittent services can be billed per service. Some services may be covered by insurance, supplementary insurance or long-term care policies.
