Comfort Care

Comfort and Freedom From Pain

The goal of palliative care is to relieve the pain, symptoms and stress of serious illness- whatever the prognosis. Palliative differs from hospice care, as it may be provided at any time during a person's illness, even from the time of diagnosis and during the same time as curative treatment to ensure each day is lived to its fullest potential.

Along with symptom and pain management for the patient, Keystone's palliative care goals also include communication with and support for the family.

Palliative care could help you:

  • If you experience chronic pain or other symptoms of your illness.
  • If you want to control negative side effects resulting from your medical treatments.
  • If you need assistance coordinating your care among multiple health care providers.
  • If you desire to maintain control over your treatment choices ensuring your wishes are known and respected.
