What Are Creative Arts Therapies?

John's Art Legacy

During his time in hospice care, John regularly participated in art therapy sessions and described the art process as a way to enjoy the time he had left.

He often spoke of his life and his love for his wife and family while painting.

As a remembrance for his family, John wrote a poem about them and placed copies of it in books filled with his artwork to be given to each of his children.

My People

Life's been interesting,
I've learned that you have to do
your own thing in life,
But sometimes life just happens.

My Wife was the best thing that ever happened to me,
She was a real piece of work
And our kids were the best thing we ever did.

Now that My Kids are not kids anymore,
They should go back to being kids,
and look back to their beginnings.

We all stood up for each other,
and didn't have any major quarrels.
That's important to remember.

My Family's My Life...

I love you, I'm proud of you, and you have all done well.
