Admissions
Keystone Hospice is for patients with any end-stage diagnosis, both cancer and non-cancer such as pulmonary disease, cardiac disease, AIDS, and neurological disease such as Alzheimer’s. Patients are recertified based on Medicare criteria at specified intervals to determine appropriateness for continued care.

Payment for Services

Home Hospice Care
Medicare and Medicaid provide hospice coverage for patients who have a prognosis of six months or less and meet National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization Foundation (NHPCO) guidelines. Most commercial insurance carriers also offer a hospice benefit. All services of the hospice team, as well as medications and durable medical equipment as required related to the terminal diagnosis, are included under insurance coverage. In most instances, there is no out-of-pocket cost to patients or families for hospice services.

Keystone House Residential Hospice Care
Prior to admission to Keystone House, all residents must be evaluated for hospice appropriateness based on National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO) guidelines, and admitted to Keystone Hospice services, unless otherwise arranged through administration with another Hospice provider. Medicare/Medicaid and most commercial insurance carriers offer a hospice benefit.
