Charles “Chip” Amuso is a 17-year-old resident of Wyndmoor. A graduate of Our Mother of Consolation School, he is a rising senior at St. Joseph’s Preparatory School. He is a member of Troop 474 of the Boy Scouts of America, which is based at the Scout House in Roxborough, and is chartered by the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in Roxborough. For his Eagle Scout Project, Chip is overseeing the making of 10 handmade quilts for the residents of Keystone House.
Chip led a scrap fabric drive and collected dozens of bags of fabric, and led the troop in sorting, cutting, and cleaning the fabric as part of the troop’s service on Martin Luther King, Jr., Day. Since then, he has been hard at work sewing the pieces together to make beautiful quilts for Keystone. He has many sewers helping him, including a class at the William H. Hunter School in Kensington.
At the June 5, 2024, meeting of the KeystoneCare Board of Directors, Chip presented Executive Director Gail Inderwies with a completed quilt for use at the House. The quilt includes the KeystoneCare logo in the top corner.
